Gigantify
Get an 8-Cost 8/8 copy of this.

Gigantify is a mechanic introduced in Dr. Boom's Incredible Inventions. Whenever a card with Gigantify is played, an 8-mana 8/8 version of that card is added to the player's hand.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Cards with Gigantify generate a new unique card, instead of just a copy of themselves with stats set to 8/8.
    • The new card will have new artwork and the Gigantify keyword is replaced with Gigantic, but the name of the card, as well as all other text and minion types remain the same.
  • Gigantic cards will not keep any enchantments from the parent card.
  • Gigantify is an on-play effect, meaning it will not trigger when the Gigantify card is summoned.
  • Gigantify is triggered when the card is played, before any Battlecries or other on-play effects.
  • Gigantic cards are generated in the same spot in hand as the Gigantify card.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Gigantify is the reverse of Miniaturize, which meant developers had to adjust their design philosophy. "Instead of repetitive effects that are strong because they're cheap, we leaned into effects that are more exciting on a bigger minion."[1]
  • The keyword Gigantify/Gigantic was originally suggested internally as a joke, and developers ran with it. "We don't usually introduce a new keyword in a mini-set, but this one made sense."[2]
