Tavern spell

Tavern spell is an unique card type that only appears in Battlegrounds. Tavern spells were added in Patch 28.2.0.190416.^[1]

Tavern spells are separated from regular spells in Battlegrounds in two main ways:

They can appear as entities in the Tavern during the Recruit phase, and only function like regular spells after added to the player's hand.
They have a Tavern "spell school" listed on the bottom of the card, something all other spells in Battlegrounds lack.

Unlike minions, Tavern spells have varying costs, indicated by the number in the gold icon on the card.
- These costs tell how much gold is needed to buy the spell, not play it. Playing the spell is free, like with minions.
Like minions, Tavern spells have Tiers, and can only be found in the Tavern once that Tier has been reached.
Each time the player Refreshes the Tavern, it will include a Tavern spell of their Tier or lower on top of the normal number of minion offerings for their Tier.
Tavern spells can't be tripled and are spent once played.
Tavern spells can be Frozen. Frozen Tavern spells stay in the Tavern for the next turn and an additional one won't get added to the Tavern next turn.
Tavern spells can be Discovered and generated from eligible generation effects.
