A hero is a card type in Battlegrounds that the player controls. All heroes have health as the main resource to keep them alive. In Battlegrounds, most heroes start at 30 health.
Each hero has their unique Hero Power with an unique cost and mechanics that the player can take account of to plan their strategy throughout the game.
To win a Battlegrounds game, the player must deal damage to all other 7 heroes to reduce their health 0, while their hero must keep its health above 0 or end at top 4.
Notes[edit | edit source]
- If two or more heroes die at the same turn, whoever has less health after receiving damage will be placed lower.
- Heroes can only take 15 damage at most if more than 4 heroes are still alive.
- Each hero has a set Armor value from 5-20 (based on their power level) that adds to their maximum health.

Functionality[edit | edit source]
- Prior to Patch 25.6.0.168788, each hero would gain a random amount of Armor based on their armor tier. This was replaced with set armor values for each hero.
Removed heroes[edit | edit source]
These heroes were retired or removed, used to be available, or are temporarily banned.
Patch changes[edit | edit source]
- Patch 27.4.0.185749 (2023-09-19):
- The damage cap now persists for all players until the Top 4, instead of until one player dies.
- Patch 25.6.0.168788 (2023-03-14):
- Starting health for heroes is now 30.
- Armor tiers removed: Heroes now have a set amount of armor instead, from 5 to 20.
- Patch 21.8.0.126299 (2021-11-16):
- Armor tiers added. Each hero now has a random amount of armor based on their armor tier.
