Audiopocalypse is Hearthstone's 8th mini-set, featuring 38 new collectible cards added to the Festival of Legends set. It was released on May 31, 2023.[1]

This mini-set follows the events of the Festival of Legends, as the Grimtotem Tauren have had enough of the constant blasting of music. Now, they want to destroy all music to make sure this never happens again. This could be the end of music on Azeroth!

Lore[edit | edit source]

Magatha Grimtotem, Elder Crone of the Grimtotem

The Grimtotem is a tribe of tauren that reside in Kalimdor. They have a theater of operations in the Thousand Needles, where the Festival of Legends takes place.

Warcraft Wiki icon.pngThis section uses content from the Warcraft Wiki.

The Grimtotem tribe (also known as the Grimtotem clan, or simply the Grimtotem tauren) is one of the mightiest tauren tribes. They stand as an aggressive extreme of the usually pacifistic tauren, wishing to eradicate the "lesser races" from Kalimdor and retake the tauren's long lost ancestral holdings. The Grimtotem tribe fights to eliminate the enemies of the tauren; to the Grimtotem, almost all races are enemies of the tauren. They are known for unprovoked attacks, slaughter and mayhem, in great contrast to the peaceful, spiritual nature of the other tauren clans.

From early childhood, while other tauren their age learn the rites of the Great Hunt and to be in harmony with nature, the Grimtotem are taught how to fight each other. They learn to kill quickly and cleanly with hands, horns, and whatever weapon they can get their hands on. In any given conflict, the odds are with a Grimtotem to emerge victorious. They do not fight honorably; they fight to win.

The Grimtotem are currently split into two main camps: those led by the powerful shaman  Magatha Grimtotem, who gained leadership after marrying the previous leader, who had died shortly after in an "unforeseen climbing accident"; and those led by Jevan Grimtotem, who are loyal to the Horde and renounced Magatha after the part she played in  Cairne Bloodhoof's death. Jevan's Horde Grimtotem are about a quarter of the pre-split Grimtotem population.

Instead of learning to respect the land and elements, the Grimtotem do nothing but take land, power, and lives. They are skilled and relentless, and believe that no others have a right to be here, even the tauren who disagree with them.

Blog description[edit | edit source]

The Festival of Legends has rocked on. And on... And on. For weeks! The local Grimtotem Tauren can’t sleep, they can’t think, and they have had enough! Now, they want to destroy all music to make sure this never happens again. This could be the end of music on Azeroth; this is the Audiopocalypse![1]

History[edit | edit source]
