Overview[edit | edit source]

This Tavern Brawl sees players taking on the form of various characters seen in previous single-player content, most of them being old bosses. Players can choose to play as one of nine preset characters, each with their own Hero Power and premade deck. In addition, each player can choose a passive bonus from one of the members of the League of E.V.I.L.

Special cards[edit | edit source]

Work for Hagatha
Work for Dr. Boom
Work for Togwaggle
Work for Madame Lazul
Witchwood's Touch
Shallow Graves

On each player's first turn, they can select one of four passives bonus from one of the members of the League of E.V.I.L.

  • Work for Hagatha: At the end of your turn transform a random friendly minion into one that costs (1) more.
  • Work for Dr. Boom: Give all friendly minions Deathrattle: Deal 1-2 damage to a random enemy.
  • Work for Togwaggle: After you play a Minion add a Coin to your hand.
  • Work for Madame Lazul: After you play a spell, gain a copy of a random card in your opponent's hand.

The way the passive Work with Dr. Boom works is that it gives minions the Deathrattle when the player summons them. Therefore, if only one of the players in a game selects this passive and later takes control of an enemy minion, the minion will not gain the Deathrattle; conversely, if the opponent takes control of a minion that has Dr. Boom's Deathrattle, the minion will keep the Deathrattle.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

  • Candlebeard: Play aggressive and go face as often as possible. Pairs best with Togwaggle, so you always can use your Hero Power right after summoning something. Dr. Boom is a decent alternative.
  • George the Fallen: A well-rounded and powerful henchman. His Hero Power makes it extremely hard for opponents to catch up to if they don't have good ways to ping and his Silver Hand Recruit buffs can close out the game easily. Works well with any leader, but pairs best with Dr. Boom.
  • Manhunter Ivan: A jack-of-all-trades. He doesn't have any huge weaknesses, but needs a few key cards to secure a win. Works well with any leader besides Togwaggle.
  • Mr. Chu: Has bad matchup against most other henchmen. Is unlikely to survive long enough to make use of big minions and has weak synergy with the leaders. Pairs best with Madame Lazul, although risk of milling is high, or Hagatha. His only good matchup is against Sephira Dusktalon, whose spell-heavy deck can easily mill her, but also due to a bug if she draws an Explosive with a Hero Power it becomes unplayable.
  • Myra Rotspring: Has a weak start, but can shift tempo massively in her favor in the midgame. Pairs best with Togwaggle to play out her combos faster. Dr. Boom also works, but it will screw up her Hero Power's targeting.
  • Raeth Ghostsong: A control deck with a game plan of keeping the board clean with his Hero Power and outvaluing the opponent late game with resurrection effects. His scaling minions keep the midgame in check. Has better matchup against the more aggressive decks. Works well with any leader except Lazul. Picking Togwaggle has the advantage of powering up his Lesser Diamond Spellstone, as his deck has very few spells.
  • Russell the Bard: He has a fairly standard Rogue deck, but his oppressive Hero Power makes him good against certain matchups. Most of his finishing power comes from massively buffed Questing Adventurers. Pairs well with any leader.
  • Sephira Dusktalon: A very buff-focused deck with mostly small minions. Spread out your minions then play out your AoE buffs. Her Hero Power is double-edged, making her very unlikely to run out of steam, but easy to mill. Dr. Boom or Togwaggle are good choices. Hagatha is not recommended because it conflicts with her Deathrattle minions, as well as Lazul since the value generation is overkill. Consider picking Togwaggle against her to mill her deck quickly.
  • Voodoomaster Vex: A powerful henchman with good card generation and board tempo. His Hero Power works for both heroes, but his deck can take advantage of it better. Pairs best with Dr. Boom, dishing out huge amounts of damage over time. When fighting against Voodoomaster Vex, picking Dr. Boom is recommended.
