Lore

Freya is one of the titanic Keepers. She resided in the Temple of Life in the Storm Peaks until Keeper Loken rebelled against the titan-forged. Yogg-Saron took control of her and made her lay dormant inside the greenery of Ulduar. Freya left behind an avatar in Sholazar Basin to protect it as a fail-safe if she were to be unavailable to the land. She has always been associated with Life and its protection.
Freya was one of the nine titan-forged Keepers created by the Pantheon to lead their armies against the forces of the Old Gods. She was imbued with power by Eonar. Together with  Archaedas, she battled and defeated Therazane the Stonemother. Freya created the Emerald Dream during the Ordering of Azeroth to serve as the underlying blueprint for the planet. Some believe that she wove the Emerald Dream into being from nothing, others claim that this strange place had always existed in some form, a dream born from Azeroth's slumbering world-soul, which Freya tapped into and molded what would become known as the Dream as a way to commune with the nascent titan. Within the Emerald Dream, she planted G'Hanir, the Mother Tree, a single massive tree set atop a high peak. From it bloomed many fruits and flowers, and new life flowed outwards in waves, sweeping across the land. Freya sculpted many pools of life in other locations within the Dream, but G'Hanir was the first, the tallest, and the most radiant. For millennia, it served as a source of healing and balance that extended beyond the Dream and into the physical world, acting as a guide for Azeroth's natural life.
Freya then wandered the world, searching for areas where the Well of Eternity's energies had coalesced. These regions created optimal conditions for the development of new flora and fauna. She molded life of astounding diversity, seeding it around the world. The sites where Freya had done her work were located at the polar extremes of the world. They included regions that would later become known as Un'Goro Crater, Sholazar Basin, and the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. The original names she gave them became lost to time. As she set out to populate the world with life, she placed one of the first seeds in what would become Pandaria, near the powerful energy of the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. From it grew Fu Zan, the first tree. It grew strong and tall, drinking deeply from the Vale's resonant power. More trees arose around it. Lush forests, both in the Dream and in the waking world, sprang to life across the region. All of Pandaria's forests descended from it. A small number of exceptional, wild animals emerged from her enclaves and grew far beyond expectations, showing remarkable power. They became known as the Wild Gods. Seeing them as her children, Freya linked them to the Emerald Dream and wandered primordial Kalimdor with them at her side. The area they spent the most time at was Mount Hyjal.
