Strategy[edit | edit source]

The fight is a race against time, the only way you are going to win is to kill her before she kills you. At turn 6, Kay plays  Boots of Haste and fills the board with 8/8s. If you are unable to finish her, then you will likely lose on turn 7.

Curve is key to this fight. While spells can get you closer to beating her, they are a one-time commodity, while minions will be able to contribute a lot to damage since she doesn't interrupt you at all. You can buy yourself one extra turn with certain classes, like mage with  Blizzard. Overall, constant damage is the key to victory. Should you have a bad hand from the start, expect to lose. If she pulls out  Ragnaros, Lightlord among the cards she summons, his healing can buy her the turn she needs to defeat you, so never let up.

Be careful with cards that summon minions on her side (like  Leeroy Jenkins) and bestow her with weapons (like  Blingtron 3000). While her AI prevents her from playing any of her cards, it won't stop her from attacking with minions or weapons given to her.

In the end, defeat her before her minions are able to attack you.

As an alternate strategy, she is quite prone to exhausting herself. Her AI will readily play minions onto a board with a waiting  Doomsayer and she has no means of stopping it.

Lore[edit | edit source]

A. F. Kay originally encountered in the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion's Prologue mission when the player faces against  Tirion Fordring, and she is one of "the finest adventurers of Azeroth", whom Tirion will play as one of his first 5 minions, the other ones being  Eager Rogue,  Warlock on Fire, and  Terrible Tank, and  Needy Hunter.

Perhaps she got lost after the  Sindragosa raid, or wandered so long to find the members of her party that she got lost in the tunnels underground.
