With the start of the Year of the Dragon,  Baku the Mooneater and odd-cost related cards rotated to Wild, making Odd Mage a wild-exclusive archetype. For more information, see Game format.

Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk full.jpg

Odd Mage is a Mage deck type that formed with the launch of The Witchwood. However, it has never been a high-level deck until the addition of many strong hero-power utility tools with Rastakhan's Rumble expansion.

The core purpose of the deck is to put pressure to the opponent with early-game minions, while using hero power with the spare mana in order to activate Jan'alai's effect. The deck has many powerful options in the late game, like Jan'alai as strong late-game tempo with Ragnaros and one the most powerful control tools in the game,  Frost Lich Jaina.
