- Plague Strike checks to see if the minion has been dealt lethal damage before summoning a ghoul. If Plague Strike is cast from a Cast spell effect while a minion's death is mid-resolution, a ghoul will be summoned even if Plague Strike didn't get the killing blow.
Lore
Plague Strike was a death knight ability that damaged a target and applied a Blood Plague. It was removed in World of Warcraft: Legion.
