Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Southsea Squidface resembles Davy Jones, the pirate character from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise who has been cursed to have a cephalopod-like head with numerous tentacles.
  • Southsea Squidface is actually a female character, as her voiceline in the gamefiles is VO_OG_267_Female_Faceless.

Lore[edit | edit source]

Southsea Squidface appears to be a faceless one who has taken up the life of a pirate on the South Seas. Along with  N'Zoth's First Mate, this is the first known mention of n'raqi pirates.

The Southsea Freebooters, a small fleet of pirates, have no landward home — at least none that authorities have found — but are a common sight along the coast of the Barrens and Tanaris, and have even recently appeared in the flooded Thousand Needles. Their connection with the Northsea Freebooters is unclear, but the Northsea Freebooters seem to have a severe disliking of the Southsea ones.
The Southsea Freebooters have several bases located along the southeastern coasts of Kalimdor.
