Notes

To edit these notes, go to Template:Snapjaw Shellfighter notes.

  • Snapjaw Shellfighter can go negative in health when its effect triggers from area of effect damage.[1]
    • Example: If you have a Snapjaw Shellfighter and two Wisps adjacent to it on the board and  Volcano is cast, Snapjaw Shellfighter takes 15 damage, going down from 8 health to -7 health, and the two Wisps survive on the board.[2]
    • Example: If the opponent has a Snapjaw Shellfighter with 1 health remaining and two Wisps adjacent to it, and you cast  Flamestrike, the Snapjaw Shellfighter takes 12 damage, going down from 1 health to -11 health, and the two Wisps survive on the board.
  • When multiple abilities are triggered simultaneously, the order of events is generally determined by the order in which the cards were played or summoned.
    • Example: If  Cursed Blade is used on a  Wrathguard which is positioned between a Snapjaw Shellfighter on the left and a Snapjaw Shellfighter on the right:
      • If the left Snapjaw was played earlier than the right Snapjaw, then the damage is redirected to the left Snapjaw Shellfighter.
      • If the right Snapjaw was played earlier than the left Snapjaw, then the damage is redirected to the right Snapjaw Shellfighter.
    • Example: If  Whirlwind is used on a board with two Snapjaw Shellfighters, damage is redirected to both.
  • Different damage redirection effects can chain with each other, but each one will only occur once. This means that Snapjaw Shellfighter's damage redirection effect will only trigger once within a cascading sequence of damage redirection triggers.
    • Example: If  Cursed Blade is used on a  Wrathguard which is positioned on the left of two Snapjaw Shellfighters, the right-most Snapjaw Shellfighter receives the final damage.
    • Example: If  Fireball is used on a Snapjaw Shellfighter positioned on the left of another Snapjaw Shellfighter, the left Snapjaw Shellfighter receives the final damage.
  • Redirected damage is applied before modifiers.
    • Example: If  Cursed Blade is used on a  Wrathguard adjacent to a Snapjaw Shellfighter, the hero that used the Cursed Blade takes 8 damage.
  • Snapjaw Shellfighter's effect is a pre-damage trigger, which triggers only when an adjacent minion takes damage, before the damage is taken by that minion.
    • Example: If a minion with Divine Shield is attacked adjacent to a Snapjaw Shellfighter, the Divine Shield will not be removed.
