Template:Spikeridged Steed strategy

This card acts as a more-powerful and slightly-more-expensive  Sludge Belcher, with the condition that you need a minion in play to use it. The easiest minion to keep around would be a  Silver Hand Recruit, but this card becomes exponentially more powerful as you cast it on more powerful targets. The buffed minion is strong against hard removal and direct damage like  Assassinate and  Fireball, but weak to Silence and transform effects like  Spellbreaker or  Hex.

Due to the price of this card, it may be hard to cast this on more expensive minions. You can either wait a turn after playing a minion, or combo this card with something the turn you play it. On turn 8, you can easily use  Reinforce followed by this card to make a 3/7 Taunt that becomes a 2/6 Taunt.

Like all sticky Taunts, the buffed minion is great for protecting high priority minions you control. The stat buff can also be used to create a favourable trade, although this is mostly a secondary bonus.

This card works well with  The Last Kaleidosaur, both counting towards the Quest and creating a wall to protect  Galvadon once he is available.
