Purified Shard is the most difficult questline but provides the best reward of instantly killing the enemy hero.
Purified Shard forces the player to build a deck revolving around its requirements such as having at least a 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 mana cost card. Because of this , many of these decks are usually Control Priest which requires the player to stall long enough with either board removal or Taunts to fufill its requirements followed by waiting for the Purified Shard to be drawn.
The player is required to play on curve (Turn 2 - play a 2 mana cost , Turn 3 - play a 3 mana cost) to be able to get through the questline as missing some of the cost cards or not playing those 2/3 mana costs will hinder the progression as the player cannot retroactively play higher cost cards to fufilll later questline requirements.
Xyrella, do note, has taunt providing you additional time while you search for Purified Shard in your deck.
Grand Archivist and 
High Abbess Alura can instantly cheat out Purified Shard once Xyrella has been played which can easily win you the game at the spot. Lorekeeper Polkelt allows you to instantly top-deck Purified Shard.
Should the player draw Purified Shard which means the battle is automatically won. However it can be easily foiled with 
Oh My Yogg! or 
Counterspell.
Far Watch Post, Nerubar Weblord are cards that can disrupt early progression of the questline. As such using cards to discount your hand such as Palm Reading can be a problem as it makes it difficult to finish the entire quest especially at the final Illuminate the Void questline unless the player has 9/10 cost cards.
Another threat can be cards that discard cards from your deck like Gnomferatu, 
Fel Reaver, Altar of Fire, and Tickatus . This become much easier if Lorekeeper Polkelt is played on that following turn.

Lore[edit source]
This card depicts Xyrella seeking guidance from godly entities that may lead her to more naaru shards. Eventually, she finds a corrupted Void Shard and tries to purify it.
