Template:Platebreaker strategy

From Hearthstone Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Platebreaker is an extremely oppressive tech card against Warrior and Druid control decks that rely on stacking up Armor. While these decks rely on stacking up tons of Armor to stall and make value plays without risking death in the late game, Platebreaker wastes all the time and mana spent on obtaining them. It fits best in a midrange or control deck matchup.

Platebreaker also serves as a hard counter against  High Priest Thekal, leaving the opponent extremely vulnerable afterwards.

Adventures

Platebreaker is a valuable minion in the Knights of the Frozen Throne mission, since some bosses ( Lady Deathwhisper, Professor Putricide and The Lich King) start with lots of Armor, and Platebreaker can instantly remove all of their Armor, minimizing the amount of effort required to remove it. This is especially effective if you fight the Lich King as a warrior, since his cheat card  The True King gives him 100 Armor and Platebreaker's Battlecry completely nullifies this advantage.
