Template:Beakered Lightning strategy

A decent ping for Shaman that can clear away multiple 1-health minions or Divine Shields. Paying 0 mana upfront for this effect is strong, but it comes at a heavy Overload price and damages your own board. Because of the Overload, you have to be very mana efficient on the turn this is played, otherwise you risk falling behind after only gaining a minor benefit. Damaging your own board is a serious downside, since a Wrath of Air Totem could force this card to clear all of your totems and small minions away.

Maelstrom Portal is typically a stronger choice, synergizing with Spell Damage better by not hitting your own minions as well as summoning a 1 drop for free.
