Template:Spirit Lash strategy
Spirit Lash serves a similar function to 
Wild Pyromancer, which has regularly seen play in Priest decks, although in a more convenient package, as well as having a large burst-heal potential. It's ability to damage friendly minions as well as enemies can also be an upside when combined with cards such as Northshire Cleric and Circle of Healing.
In Arena, Spirit Lash doesn't offer adequate Area of Effect damage to often be worth a slot in a draft, as one damage is often not enough to achieve much in the format. It should also be noted that it's ability to damage friendly minions makes it even more difficult to utilize. The Lifesteal component of the card is not very important in Arena, as tempo almost always takes a precedence over hero health.
