Spirit Claws is most effective with cheap Spell Damage minions such as 
Bloodmage Thalnos, as this turns it into a 3/3 that can deal up to 9 damage for just 1 mana. Without Spell Damage, it is below average - compare for instance Light's Justice, which has 1 extra durability.
