Hand of Protection is a relatively cheap way to save a minion from potential death or force a favorable trade. Divine Shield can be placed on a friendly or even an enemy minion to shield it from a single attack. This card can be used even if a minion has lost their own Divine Shield, and is useful in preparation for a 
Blood Knight.
