Since three out of five possible secrets generated by this card serve to protect or resurrect fallen minions, Hydrologist is usually best used to protect minions in an agressive deck, keeping your momentum going while you attack the enemy hero. The other two secrets are very situational, but generally scale into late-game better than the others.

With this in mind, Hydrologist is a valuable tool for aggressive paladins - especially murloc paladins - that should not be underestimated.
