While its effect may not seem like much at first glance, Molten Rock scales up quickly with other buff elementals like Party Elemental and its late-game counterpart Lil' Rag. Molten rock easily becomes one of the biggest elementals on your board over time, making it useful up until you get Lieutenant Garr.
