Hangry Dragon is weakly statted for its tier, so is best suited for when you are already in a favorable position shortly after reaching Tavern Tier 3. Even one or two wins after playing it can help Hangry Dragon buff itself beyond the stats of most other Tavern 3 minions, allowing it to snowball its way to large stats while you coordinate a more cohesive build.
