BM vs bad manners[edit source]

While the page is titled 'Bad manners', I believe the true and correct term is 'BM'. The reason for this is that while 'BM' is an acronym for 'bad manners', in practice the term has its own specific meaning beyond the basic definition of 'bad manners'; and is also commonly used as a verb, which is entirely incorrect for 'bad manners' ("the warlock bad manners'ed the druid"). Also, many players use the term 'BM' without even knowing the connection to 'bad manners', but still knowing what 'BM' means. Most importantly, 'BM' is common parlance. Googling for "hearthstone BM" returns 327,000 results, while "hearthstone 'bad manners'" returns only 10,900 - around 3% of the hits.

I suspect it's correct to leave the title as it is, but for all other purposes it seems the proper term and subject of the article is 'BM'. -- Taohinton (talk) 19:19, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

BM is a shorthand. Since we now have 'Drop' and 'Face', I guess 'BM' is fine. <sigh> -- Karol007 (talk) 23:34, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
We also use 'promo' instead of 'promotion'. -- Karol007 (talk) 11:00, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
Yup. 'Promo' is even more correct, since it's the actual set name used in the game itself, with 'promotion' simply a logical (and presumably accurate) extrapolation. -- Taohinton (talk) 16:41, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
