Template:Rancor strategy

A hybrid whirlwind effect and armor generation for 4 mana but provides 2 armor for each minion destroyed.

Rancor is best used for big boards that have low health minions which can generate more Armor. You can also summon your own tokens followed by a Rancor to gain massive armor.

However Rancor does not do well on its own against a small board as it is expensive and doesn't provide much tradeoff. Instead use cards like Bladestorm, Whirlwind, Sword and Board, Shield Slam or Brawl for these situations. If you want only Armor generation, Heavy Plate, or Shield block gets the job done
